HR Club

Promoting the employees’ integrity, maintaining a high-quality workforce, distributing standard HR practices, and sharing HR-related information among the member microfinance (MFI) under the Myanmar Microfinance Association are the common goals of HR Club Members. For HR practitioners working in the Microfinance industry, the ability to share information and solve sector-specific problems together becomes crucial as the multi-sectorial workforce moves in and out of the microfinance sector.

Not only equipping the new workforce with microfinance-specific skills, and industry know-how, but also retaining and attracting the best talent that can contribute to the whole system, HR Club participants brainstorm and yield the collective framework for individual Microfinance Institutes to be more resilient and thriving during uncertain economic and structural changes.

COO Club

Executions of loan payment and collection involve various challenges in streamlining client’s information, real-time updates on payment, and immediate notifications on clients whose payment times fall behind schedule. Covering all microfinance operations across Myanmar states and divisions, managerial roles from operations periodically meet in this joint club at MMFA to share their experiences and challenges and try to find solutions, ensuring all the operation activities comply with the Law.

One of the pressing operation issues is multiple borrowing and eventually a growing risk of over-indebtedness in certain townships. Participants of the COO Club openly share their ideas for the benefit of the sector. The COO Club is also the place to solve various compliance issues in the changing regulatory environment. From COO Club, participants strive to voice out their internal issues to produce recommendations for all MFI operations to advantage the whole microfinance sector.

Finance Club

Finance Club is a platform to share information and discuss various critical issues, not only from the MFI sector but also from the banking and finance industry. It creates opportunities for the members openly to discuss and share their understanding of the law and regulations from the banking and finance sector.

Sharing and discussing various issues can provide an opportunity to improve their understanding of the policy and procedures which was related to the MFI industry. Moreover, insightful knowledge and suggestions from professionals can get benefit all participants.

Audit Club

The purpose of the Audit Club is to discuss and share the solutions for the issues and challenges which were related to the industry risks such as credit risk, operational risk, fraud cases, and so on. By sharing information and experiences with each other, members will gain knowledge of how their management achieves its objective by evaluating the risks and controlling the environment.

In addition, the audit club is also a place to share standard compliance practices and proactive management in a challenging environment.

Digital Financial Services Transformation Club

The aim of this club is to share and discuss the opportunities and challenges of the MFI digitization process. By offering digital experiences from the technical experts, the individual MFI will get a new idea and gain knowledge of how to apply the digital process in the MFI industry. The digital financial services club hopes to provide a platform for members to improve their understanding of digital experiences and build a network with each other by participating in this club.

In addition, the digital financial services club seeks to bridge MFIs and FinTeach companies through the practice of digital technology and financial inclusion in digital ways.
